If you are partaking in the Early Decision Program (EDP), you must submit your application to AMCAS no later than 11:59 pm EST on December 1. This is the deadline for applications to the Early Decision Program (EDP).

In addition, you should have completed the CASPer test before you proceed to apply to the VCU School of Medicine. The CASPer test is the American Professional Health Sciences test that must be taken by any student who wishes to major in medicine.

Tips to get accepted into VCU School of Medicine

It all begins right from your high school GPA. In fact, your GPA right from secondary school plays a major role in your admission into VCU School of Medicine. One might ask, what is the minimum GPA required for admission?

On average, students admitted into VCU School of Medicine score about 3.7 GPA in high school. If you are really determined to make it into VCU medical school, you should have already built a GPA higher than this.

However, admission to VCU College of Medicine is not limited to having a very good GPA; your MCAT score is also a key-determining factor. An MCAT score of less than 500 might be insufficient to get you into VCU School of Medicine.

Personally, I recommend a score of at least 520 to get admitted to medical school. Your score should be at least 130 for chemical and physical tests and 130 for critical analysis. Psychological, social, biological, and biochemical tests should also be a minimum of 130.
